Staff at HLCC

Lori began teaching at HLCC in 2006 and became the school’s director in November 2013. She and her husband Tim have three children and two grandchildren.  Lori received a diploma from the International Correspondence School in Child Day Care, and was awarded her CDA credential in 2009. Her hobbies include painting ceramics and paint-by-numbers, putting puzzles together, and reading Christian mysteries.

Karen has been teaching at HLCC since February 2001. She is a graduate of Watkins Memorial and completed her CDA and earned her bachelor’s degree in early childhood education from Ashford University. She and her husband Rob have four children and three grandchildren, plus dogs, cats, a turtle, and foster kittens. Karen enjoys reading, gardening, antiquing, and going to the zoo and movies.

Laura began teaching at HLCC in December 2008. She has been married to her husband, Rick since September 1997 and they have three children, three cats and a dog. Laura graduated from Watkins Memorial in 1993 and attended OSU for Early Childhood Education and has completed her CDA.  Laura enjoys watching her children play sports, walking, reading, shopping, music and watching movies.

Tricia began at HLCC  in August of 2013. She and her husband, Bob have four children and several animals. Tricia graduated with an associate degree in science from Xavier University, specializing in X-ray technology. She has volunteered in her children’s classrooms and has been a Girl Scout troop leader for nine years. Tricia completed her CDA certification in 2015. Her hobbies include gardening, quilting and DYI projects.

Michelle started at HLCC in August of 2016. She and her husband George have two children.  Michelle has a bachelor’s in speech communications from California State University, Northridge.  Michelle has spent several years volunteering in SWL schools and with the Girl Scouts.  Her hobbies include scrapbooking, sewing, crocheting and going to car shows with her family in her 1960 Studebaker Lark Convertible.

Amanda came on staff at HLCC in 2017.  She is married to her husband Travis and has two girls – Josephine and Eleanor – and three cats.  Amanda graduated from Ohio University with her BAED in Preschool – Third grade and her Master’s in Intervention Specialist for K- 12. During her free time, Amanda enjoys reading, music, camping, and spending time with family and friends.

Erin has been with HLCC since 2018.  She grew up in Pataskala and graduated from Watkins Memorial.  She received her Masters of Social Work from OSU, and received her CDA in 2020.  She is a Licensed Independent Social Worker. Erin has been married to her husband Brad since 2009 and has four children and several animals.  Her hobbies include singing, playing with the kids, exercising and enjoying vacations at the beach.

Tabatha joined the HLCC staff in February 2019, and was awarded her CDA credential in 2020.   She grew up in the Navy and graduated from Zanesville High School.  Tabatha lived in South Carolina and Seattle, Washington with her husband while he was in the Navy.  They have two children and several animals.  Tabatha is a foodie who enjoys watching movies, and because she loves animals so much, the zoo is her favorite place to visit

Abby joined the HLCC staff in April 2019.   She is a graduate of Watkins Memorial High School and has an associate degree in business management from COTC.  She was awarded her CDA in 2020.  Abby has two children with her husband Kevin.  A dog named Emma completes their family.  Abby enjoys boating, camping, hanging out with friends, going to the beach, and spending time with family.

Kathleen began helping at HLCC in September 2018 as a lunch and recess aide, substitute teacher, and office assistant.  Kathleen has been married to her husband, Tim since December 1999. They have three children, Jillian, Kiona and Koen.  She graduated from Reynoldsburg High School.  She enjoys baking and cooking, painting and working with her church youth group.

Holly joined HLCC as a teacher in 2021, although she has been doing at home daycare for over a decade before coming to work as a teacher at the preschool.  She has been married to her husband JJ since 2005.  They have two boys, a cat, and a dog.  Holly enjoys reading, swimming, biking, and going to antique stores.

Brandy served on the preschool board while her younger two children attended HLCC.  She joined the staff as bookkeeper in 2014.  Brandy has a bachelor’s in applied management from OU.  She also works as a remote administrative assistant, web designer, and bookkeeper for several small businesses and nonprofit organizations.  She enjoys music, super hero movies, and going to Blue Jacket hockey games.

Gary came on staff in 2019 as a lunch and recess aide and is the preschool handyman and technology expert.  He retired from the USAF in 2019.  He has four children with his wife Brandy, and they work together as website design consultants for small businesses and nonprofits.   Gary enjoys building things, solving computer problems, and Blue Jackets hockey.

Allison joined HLCC in 2021 as a lunch aide.  She has been married to her husband Joe since 2012.  They have two children and a dog.  Allison also works as a massage therapist.  She enjoys hiking and doing crafts, especially with her Cricut.

Debby began as a teacher aide in October 2016.  Debby has been married to her husband, Bob since December 2008. They have five children and 19 grandchildren.  She graduated from American High School.  She enjoys spending time with her family and sleep overs with the grandchildren, watching them play sports, baking, playing cards, watching Blue Jackets and Cincinnati Reds. and volunteering at the Pataskala Storehouse for Jesus.
